2016 David Zimmerman

The 2016 Phyllis Gall Grandparent Award recipient is David Zimmerman. “Papa” lives in Dallas and has made the 10 1/2 hour drive 4 of the last 5 years just to be at the Nashville Buddy Walk to honor his first grandchild, Mara. He also regularly participates in the Dallas Buddy walk. He donates generously to DSAMT, receives and carefully reads the DSAMT e-newsletters, follows DSAMT on Facebook, proudly wears a 3.21 shirt, and has even attended the 3.21 World Down Syndrome Day dinner and danced proudly with Mara during the grandparent dance.
