From infant development through aging and life planning, DSAMT gathers the most up-to-date information and leading experts on important Down syndrome and disability topics and brings them to our community to improve the lives of individuals with Down syndrome.

Educational Workshop Series

Workshops are provided throughout the community at different locations to be accessible to all our families.  Parents, community members and professionals can attend most workshops free of charge.

Education Advocacy Support

DSAMT provides educational advocacy support to parents of school-aged students.  DSAMT's support includes parent consultations, including document/IEP reviews, and is overseen by our Policy & Advocacy Director, Erin Richardson.  To request support, please complete the Intake Form below.  You will be contacted by a DSAMT staff member within two business days after submission.

DSAMT maintains a collection of books, videos and other resources about Down syndrome available at no cost to our families. Contact alecia@somethingextra.org to ask about availability of a certain item.

Extraordinary Lives - A Conference on Down Syndrome

Periodically, DSAMT hosts a conference for parents, caregivers and educators - bringing together the leading national and local experts on Down syndrome to help families at any stage in their journey and educators be the best possible resource for students.  This conference will take place on May 9, 2020 at the Catholic Pastoral Center.

DS Specialists Training

The Down Syndrome Specialist Training provides advanced training on Down syndrome and how it can affect the learning process and academic performance. It trains participants on strategies and supports that have been proven to be successful for exceptional learners, especially in an inclusive environment.
