Celebrate the

extraordinary

Celebrating and supporting
people with Down Syndrome
and their families.

DSAMT is a community of parents, grandparents, siblings, physicians, educators, professionals, friends, and self-advocates from 40 counties in Middle Tennessee who celebrate and support individuals with Down Syndrome and their families. DSAMT is inclusive and does not draw stiff boundaries, so if you're in town or you have a need we can help, you're welcome to reach out or join us.

We envision a world in which individuals with Down syndrome are accepted, included, and valued for the extraordinary gifts they bring to our lives.

The Extra Mile® is the largest Down syndrome awareness event in TN and is DSAMT’s primary source for program funding... and you do not have to fundraise to participate and celebrate your loved one with something extra.

Whether you know someone who has Down syndrome or just want to show your support, take the first step and donate or register today! Help us spread the word; everyone is welcome to our day of celebration!

SPOTLIGHT: Hutch Hampton

Hutch Hampton is our extra special son, born with Down Syndrome and Congenital Heart Disease. He has forced us to slow down, celebrate the small victories, and embrace each day with joy & intentionality. Hutch has climbed some very steep mountains and is the most resilient little boy. He is only 2.5 years old but has already been through five open heart surgeries, ten heart catheterizations, and several other surgeries & procedures. Most of the first year and a half of his life was spent in the hospital.  His medical challenges have been the hardest part to adjust to, but Hutch is worth it.  Hutch loves to read books, dance to music, and interact with people.  We're so thankful that we have found a community where his down syndrome diagnosis is supported and celebrated! Hutch has reframed what it means to have courage, patience, grace, and hope. He makes us honored to be a part of the lucky few!
