For 33 years Homeplace was home to four extraordinary women who lived full lives with the
support of their church, Belmont United Methodist, and their community of friends and
family. In 2021 the home was closed. To honor the women we loved, and to continue our
mission of support for individuals with IDD and their families, Homeplace has established
a legacy fund.
The small grant program is designed to support the special needs of individuals with
intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), providing assistance to them and their
families and caregivers. The program is designed to provide support for the “extras” that
may be needed. Funds cannot be used for regular living expenses, or personal debts.
Rather that can support programs, equipment, training, education, and other experiences
and activities that enhance the quality of life and/or capacity for self-actualization of
persons with IDD.
Eligible applicants include individuals with IDD and their families. Applicants must
be residents of Davidson or surrounding counties in Tennessee.
Grant amounts are expected to be in the range of $500 to a maximum of $1,500. Only one
grant may be awarded to a qualifying individual or family per award year.
Grant applications are accepted at any time. Awards are made quarterly.
