2017 Meredith Brunner Achievement Scholarship winner: Jason Rogers
When asked why he felt he should be considered Jason's winning response was:
My name is Jason Rogers. I am a student in the IDEAL Program at Lipscomb University. I work hard at school to realize my dream of becoming a teachers aid and moving back to Chattanooga to live on my own. I have been active in activities for disabled persons all my life. I am a Special Olympics Ambassador, I recently visited my elected representatives in Nashville for Disability Day on The Hill. I work hard in school to get good grades and learn all I can. I try to make friends everywhere I go. My parents pay for my college and they say its a struggle to pay for college but worth it for me to get an education and follow my dreams. This scholarship would help me follow my dreams. Thank you.
Jason Rogers was also honored by the Tennessee General Assembly.
